Declining Mobile Gaming Market Share

For years, the mobile gaming sector has reigned supreme in South Korea, capitalizing on the widespread adoption of smartphones and the convenience of on-the-go gaming. However, recent statistics from the Korea Creative Content Agency paint a sobering picture, with a significant decline in mobile game engagement. The survey, conducted between June 2022 and June 2023, revealed that only 53.2% of participants played mobile games, a staggering 9.4 percentage point drop from the previous year.
